Kaffee und Kuchen

One of my favorite German traditions is taking time for Kaffee und Kuchen—coffee and cake. I try to do it at least once a week, ideally on a Sunday. It’s less about the cake itself and more about slowing down for an hour, whether that’s with friends, family, your partner, or even by yourself.

My dad took this tradition very seriously and enjoyed coffee and cake every single day.

In a world where everyone seems to be rushing somewhere, sitting down with a good cup of coffee and a slice of cake feels like a small act of self-care.

I highly recommend it.
